You can decide how you’d like to get notifications and emails from Instacart—or you can opt out of them altogether.
On the Website/App—
- At the top left, click the 3 horizontal lines.
- Click Your account settings.
- Click Notifications (app) or Notification settings (website).
- From here, you can toggle on or off the types of notifications you receive about order updates.

To opt-in during checkout, add your phone number and select the checkbox next to Text me about deals and promotions. A checked box means you opted in to receive marketing text messages. An unchecked box means you opted out.
You can also reply to SMS marketing texts with STOP to opt-out or go to the Notification settings page and untoggle Text messages under Marketing updates.

To change your email subscription settings, navigate to the Notifications settings page on the website.
Select Manage email preferences to subscribe or unsubscribe for marketing emails.
Please note—you’ll still receive emailed order confirmations, even if you unsubscribe from marketing emails.
If you’re not receiving emails from Instacart, please check your “Spam” or “Junk” folders to ensure the message was not filtered or flagged incorrectly.
Marketing push notification marketing
You must opt-in to push notifications by toggling on Push notification under the Marketing updates section before receiving promotions. You can also add a promotion code to your account in the Instacart app or on the website.

Updating Order Notifications
We automatically send text notifications to your mobile device so you know the status of your order every step of the way.
To receive text notifications about your order, toggle on Text messages under Order updates section.
Please note—if you turn off all notifications for order updates, you won’t get any alerts about the status of your order, including replacements and refunds.
